WHAT IS THIS?

This app converts a MIDI file to be imported into After Effects, so you can sync your animations to your MIDI data and your music. Like this!

The conversion handles the following MIDI data streams:

Note on, Note off

Velocity and pitch data

Control Change (CC) data

Pitchwheel, Aftertouch data

Chord names, includin major, minor, diminished, half diminished, augmented, minmaj, sus, extended voicings (7, 9, 11, 13, #/b), `add` notation...

USAGE

• Upload a MIDI file (enter its BPM if necesssary). Click Submit.
• Download the .MGJSON file output. Drag it into After Effects.
• Pick Whip the different notes to the attributes of the desired AE shapes. eg: pick whip the velocity of the note Db to the scale of a circle.

Make a circle pulse every time you play a specific key

Turn a shape into a knob that rotates when you do a Low Pass filter sweep

Display chord names as text in any font
